Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions we have had before and are going to try and answer them for you here:

Does it hurt?

No it does not hurt. We don't even use needles. Through the treatment process you will feel some pressure as we are busy aligning your teeth.

Why do I see an Orthodontist

When you have a problem with the alignment or position of your teeth, that is when you come and see an orthodontist. We will examine your teeth and advise on the road forward.

When do I see an Orthodontist?

Your are never to old... you might be too young :). Normally we can examine your teeth from the age of 8 years. This will vary from person to person.

How long does it take?

The time it takes for the teeth to move and realign will vary from patient to patient. The treatment plan will take approximately 18 to 24 months.

Will I be able to play sports?

Yes. It is very good to play sports. It will be advised to wear a mouth guard when playing.

How often will I see you?

We will be seeing one another on a regular basis. The appointments are scheduled between 6 to 8 week intervals.
