What is the first step?
You come for a consult with Dr Desai and afterwards we will send you a quotation with regards to the next step that needs to happen.
Does it hurt?
Orthodontic treatment does not involve needles. As the teeth are aligned, you may experience some pressure or tenderness, particularly after an adjustment.
Why do I see an Orthodontist?
When there is a problem with the alignment or position of your teeth, an orthodontist can examine your teeth and advise on the way forward.
When do I see an Orthodontist?
There is no single age that is right for everyone. An orthodontic assessment can be considered from around age 8, depending on the individual child and their dental development.
How long does treatment take?
Treatment time varies from patient to patient and depends on the individual treatment plan. Many comprehensive treatments take approximately 18–24 months.
Can I play sports?
Yes. You can continue playing sports during orthodontic treatment. A mouth guard is recommended to help protect your teeth and braces.
How often will I see you?
Appointments are scheduled at regular intervals, generally around every 6–8 weeks, depending on your treatment needs.
